#6, Christians going to hell

I have been pondering a lot as to why I did indeed leave Christianity and reject God. I do have Christian friends who I know are praying for my soul every day because I am under the threat of going to hell. Unfortunately, I fear these other Christians are going to hell also.

Have you noticed that Christians condemn the actions of the Westboro Baptist Church? But they are only quoting Bible verses. "God hates fags." I'm sure God hates them because he has been referenced in the Bible as to hate certain people. He does hate, and his love is conditional. Most Christians would say that's just wrong, that he loves everyone because he said in John 3:16 and etc etc. Your point being what? There are plenty more verses that say if you obey God and keep his commandments, then he'll love you, be your God, yaddy yadda yadda.

And I have noticed that is the way with most other Christians, even my parents. I'm on their bad side right now because I would rather go into counseling than go into business. Not only do they bitch and moan and tell me to look into a different degree, they threaten to not pay for my college if I go into psychology/counseling. They love me so much, they will pretty much disown me for going into something that is considered a good thing. And what of my..."christian friends?" they want nothing to do with me. They'd rather go on in their hypocritical lives and praise God while cussing and throwing bitch fits and getting drunk and getting high and being the most unchristian folk in existence.

They will be in hell with me for their hypocritical ways. The Christians who love everyone and are even faker will join me in hell too. I will tell you the secret to going to heaven.

1. Be Judgmental. God is judgmental, so you should be too. Don't pass judgment, but still be judgmental.
2. Wage war against all that are not Christian. This is from Atheists to other Christians who pretend to be what God wants them to be when they are the furthest.
3. The bible is your only source of knowledge. The use of science, literature, morality, etc. is for the Bible.
4. Consistently praise God because he's a arrogant asshole that needs attention 24/7. You also need to be an arrogant asshole, as in you know the truth and everyone else is a jack ass.
5. Sex is only reserved for when you want to have kids. That's right, fuck until you get your bitch pregnant. If she can't get pregnant I suggest you kill her, or make her a second class citizen and bring in a whore to finish her job.
5a. No unusual sex. No oral, anal, ear, panty, or kinky sex. Especially no kinky sex, and especially no genital torture for males, just so their equipment is secure for reproduction.
6. Love those who are as legalistic as you, and degrade those who do not think as you. They are already lost in their liberal ways. Do no associate with their type.

I'm sure there are more, but I'm sick of writing. Bye.

#5 "I'm votin' Bible!"

Last Christmas, my older brother decided to get my dad Glenn Beck's book "Arguing with Idiots." Now, my dad is old and he likes Glenn Beck (I blame his age and his decline in logic lately), so when he got this gift he was happy like a little boy watching a catholic priest be arrested. Both my sister and me, however, rolled our eyes in disgust.

Now my sister asked my dad why he likes Glenn Beck in her annoying bitch voice. He basically said he likes him and how he reports the news (ha, Glenn Beck and news. Oxymoron!). Now both my sister, my older brother, and I hate Mr. Beck. My sister and I don't like him because he is a whore. He was bitching about healthcare when he was at CNN and now that he's at Fox News he praises it like it's some damn perfect machine. We said our views on Mr. Beck, views that relate to the business he is in.

What does my brother say? My brother of baptist faith says he does not Glenn Beck because he's a Mormon. Yes, because Glenn Beck is a Mormon, my older brother despises him. Forget the fact he makes racist remarks. Forget the fact he's a fucking whore for the media machine. Forget all that. He's a Mormon! We can't have Mormons telling us the news!

Personally, I'm trying to figure out the correlation between telling the news to your religion. I mean, are we that shallow and moronic of a society that our politics and where we get our info from has to be based from our religions?

I remember my mom saying at one point she watched the 700 Club because it reported the news unbiasedly. The 700 Club, the show with Pat Robertson. Mr. Diamond Mines, Mr. Haiti got what it deserved, Mr. Prophet getting it wrong. There is really no such thing as an unbiased media outlet, only illusions of such things. And my mom bought this illusion because it was a Christian media source.

We believe in certain things just because the people of religion sects we are a part of tell us things, and so we will believe it. Nevermind the fact that they may be no where near qualified to study that area of expertise and show it in their writings. We'll just listen to them because they are part of our religion.

You know Kirk Cameron and ray Comfort? The two shmucks who came up with Way of the Master? People think Kirk Cameron is some hero now because he's a Christian. We give all the other actors crap for talking about shit that they are not experts in and yet Christians will act like Mr. Cameron is a fucking saint and genius because he is a Christian.

And what about George Bush, America's last president? He himself is considered a man of faith so we voted for him. The guy who allowed his government to lie to get into a war? But people admired his faith. why question the man who has great faith in God? He prays to him, so it's all ok.

And already people are getting scared of the upcoming 2012 elections, with the strong possibility of Sarah Palin running for president. I hope people would have the sense to not vote for her even in the primaries, but people will. Why? She's a woman of faith. I mean forget everything that every other news outlet in the world says about her, with the exception of Fox News and it's independent puppets. If every Christian in America voted for her...she would win the election. And I wouldn't be surprised if almost every pastor in America decided to tell people to vote for her.

Just think of it. A woman who is all for the family unit, opposes gay marriage, opposes abortion, opposes the idea that we are not a Christian nation, and is for everything Christian. I mean, all they have to do is get over the fact that women cannot be leaders of men and we got a strong candidate for Christians! At least they are slowly becoming progressives! Evolving, if you will. Anyway...

Religion. Just another political tool.

Romans 1:20

I looked at creation to see the image of Jehovah.
Deeper and deeper I gazed into the image of this
Deity. I saw the cancer eat away at the human.
I witnessed the earthquake murderer of islands
And nations. I looked upon the eating of animals
Devouring other animals. There was an explosion
And I saw God's creation creating its own destruction.
The trees swayed in the beauty of the sunset as the
Whale swallowed the seal in full view. The still snow
gleaned from the sun's rays as the mice were frozen
From the cold. The geese moved brilliantly in the sky
As the sick were left to die. the mountain showed its
astonishing beauty as the avalanche wiped the town
Out of existence. Look upon the creator, God, and see
What his marvelous creation shows to everyone.

#3, The Prosperity Gospel (2/2)

Now that I have talked about the more "Christian" route of the Suffering Gospel, I shall talk about the more well known, more criticized gospel: the Prosperity Gospel. The one gospel interpretation that Christians actually use reasoning to rationalize and say "This is fucked up (even though they would use alternative swear words because fuck is a dirty, nasty, filthy word that needs a good spanking and should be punished).
Now, to basically tell the Prosperity Gospel: the more you give to God, the more he rewards you here on earth with richly goods! Whether it be money (very preferred!) or works (meh), you'll get rewarded by God! It's almost too good to be true!
But it is too good to be true. There are people who I am sure are "testimonies" of the workings of prosperity, and I am not only talking of pastors who can testify because they are getting tons of money from their sheep. I have heard stories of people testifying that Jesus or God (it changes since they're the same dude) has provided for them week by week with their needs and the money to make them through with their payments. At first it sounds so great, then you have to realize the fact people are either paid once a week or once every other week (double the size of the pay check). So...is it really God providing for them, or the people who employed them?
But we do not want to think about that horrid fact that maybe the paycheck that you are promised helps you out with your bills and your needs. We want to imagine God being the one who gave us the money to help us make it through the day. That is the fantasy we attach to because our way of life is so connected to God that the very thought of "hey, he didn't give you the paycheck!" could possibly wipe out your faith, especially since I believe that is the only thing you can test God on (giving him your profits and see how much you prosper).
Now many pastors are leading this march, even pastors who have a grudge against the prosperity gospel since they know that without money, you are useless. Without money, you are powerless. Without money, you die. Money gives you life. They understand this all too well. Faith in God...is not enough. Any pastor who tells you faith in God is enough and the rest will come to you is full of shit (or poo). You can have faith in God all you want to, it does not affect me in the slightest, but it may affect you and your family if you fully rely on God to provide for you. This is why Christians go to college, get an education, work. They cannot rely on God.
So is the prosperity gospel good? Quite simply, no it is not. It could make you penniless, bankrupt, and drained. Yes, it's a gospel that is more widely known but not so frequently taught and there are people who do not believe in it. But when it all comes down to it, pastors will find some way to incorporate some of it into their gospel so they get some extra cash because God isn't enough in this world. You need something you can see to get leverage.

#2, looking at two gospels (1/2)

Jesus has said many things in the Bible, and they can be interpreted in various ways. Two such ways that I have come across are the Prosperity Gospel and the Suffering Gospel. I will discuss about the Prosperity Gospel more later but I want to focus on the Suffering Gospel, being that I am a fan of psychology and I feel the Suffering Gospel deals more with the psychological well-being of people.
Now, just what exactly is the Suffering Gospel? To paint it with a broad brush, "If you ain't sufferin', you ain't Christian (the 'a' is silent)!" Now basically what they teach is Jesus said you would suffer in life for following him. I have to say, if I were a deity of great power, I would reward those who follow me with things they need now instead of giving them treasures in heaven for when they die. But, Jesus does have a point with this whole suffering thing.
Life has its ups and downs. For someone to think it's all on the up side and never on the down side is in a state of constant denial and may eventually have a nervous break down and never be the same again. I have never met a person like this, thank the Lord of death, destruction, and tyranny (also known as Yahweh).
However Christians seem to have a problem when things are going well for them (that is, Christians in America and first world nations). Something happens to them where if they are not suffering, they have to create it in their mind they are being persecuted in some way or fashion. They need this, or else they are not suffering for God and they are going to hell because they are just not getting the persecution their God demands from them.
Take for example the issue of the ten commandments being taken "down" (more like put in the storage room) from the Alabama state judicial building. Apparently 77% of the American people disproved of the monument being taken down (which is odd, considering that is the ballpark of Christians in America). Even though we have this separation of church and state, they still wanted the ten commandments up. And even though really three of the ten commandments we and the rest of the world agree with (not including those secret assassination missions, taking tax payers money, and denying both claims), people still opposed the idea of taking down the ten commandments in a public place without realizing that then you would have to put in other laws for other religions in the place (which I don't think any Christian would appreciate their holy ten commandments next to the tenants of Scientology or Satanism). However, they protested, prayed, and asked God for this horrible thing to not occur.
Now, why would they do this? I don't think they were ordered to do that in the Bible (unless there are passages that say you must oppose government that does not feed God's narcissism when there are hundreds of churches in a 100 mile radius of this nation). It's due to Christians being "persecuted." They are so desperate for suffering, they will take something as ignorant as opposing the bill of rights that protect THEM from persecution of OTHER religions or the government, because their religion is "under attack." Instead of taking the time to understand their national rights, they would go against their rights they praise when it suits them and attack it with the mask of persecution. Why would they do this? Because they need to show God he is the number one man in their lives, and they are really wanting to get into heaven.
They have pastors telling them they "must suffer." Pastors are feeding them fear and panic by telling them "I'm not trying to scare you. I'm just trying to tell you the truth that most Christians in this sanctuary are going to be in hell and be tormented for eternity UNLESS they become the Christian I tell them to become!" Do these pastors not realize the stress they are giving these people? Anyone who takes an intro to psychology class should have learned that we all deal with stress in our lives, whether it be positive or negative, and if not dealt with, it could lead to even physical problems. Causing someone to be in a state of panic...I would say that's negative stress.
Let us not forget how you also suffer so when you get to heaven, you will be greatly rewarded (just not 70 virgins. There is no sex in heaven. Join Islam if you have to join a religion). Not only do you have people in a state of panic and fear of going to hell, but you also have people doing good things so their lives of suffering will be rewarded in heaven. So they will find ways to bend over backwards to show God they are good enough to get into heaven because they "suffered" for him. Is that not capitalism there for ya? You can be up there with God, just be his mindless, panic prone, fearing, bitter slave.
Why would anyone want to live their life for a god who all he does is make you do all his work just so that when you die, you can have riches? Why not give you riches now, to help support yourself and your family as a way to show gratitude for all the hard work you do? Why work for a man who all he wants to do is drive you til you have nothing left, not even your will to power? We have names for people like that here on earth, but God gets off the hook because he's God. What a joke.

#1

The first blog for hopefully a lot more until I lose interest in blogging. I guess the appropriate thing is to say a little about myself and why I am making this blog.

I am a 20 year old college student who is majoring in a field that has come under persecution from those who say they are closest to me. However, this does not stop me. I am currently obtaining a psych major and hopefully can get my master's soon after obtaining such degree.

I enjoy music more than the average individual, mainly due to my interest in music. I also enjoy movies just like anyone else, but also look for the deeper meaning (or make one up) and try to understand the perspective of the person as to how they reached such a point. My readings are usually not fictional, even though I do like a fictional book every so often. I usually end up reading a philosophy or psychology book of some sorts.

I am also a more recent atheist. I have been an atheist for the past couple of years and I must say it's quite a gift to actually taking a day off instead of waking up from a good Saturday party of sin to go and tell the invisible controller of the universe how much I love and adore him for all he has done for me (which is nothing). Which leads me to my main purpose of this blog:

I usually have a lot of thoughts about religion, mainly Christianity since I was brought up in it. I need some place to write them down. I have been using a note book and that would be nice...but it's just for me. I feel arrogant and I feel there has to be at least ten people out there would be interested in reading ramblings of a young adult who may change his mind about God down the road...or possibly (which is looking more and more likely) to keep the route of feelings of freedom (I guess I will talk about freedom in another blog, remind me some time). I may also write stories of sorts or other things, but mainly this is a thread of I guess you could say philosophy minus the use of most philosophy terms.

Until we meet again.
